About the Library
Library Mission
The Sharon School Library Program Mission is to teach 21st Century information literacy skills while being fully integrated into and supportive of the district curriculum, the Common Core Curriculum Standards, and the AASL Standards for the 21st Century Learner in Action.
Book Checkout
Students have time to borrow books at the end of each library lesson. They are also welcome and encouraged to borrow books any day of the week with classroom teacher permission.
Fixed Library Classes
Classes come to the library for 40 minutes each week to hear stories, research, evaluate information, communicate ideas, discuss books, develop digital citizenship skills, answer questions, and MUCH more.
Flexible Library Time
Classes and small groups may also visit the library other times throughout the week. The school library is a place for collaboration. Classroom teachers and the library staff often work together on projects that compliment curriculum and Common Core State Standards.
